Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse – Travel Position

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse to join on a travel contract in Pulaski, TN. The ICU Nurse will provide specialized care to critically ill patients requiring complex monitoring, ventilator management, and advanced medication therapies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and skilled in responding effectively to emergencies in high-acuity environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and continuous nursing care to critically ill patients.


• Monitor vital signs, ventilator settings, and invasive lines to detect changes in condition.


• Administer IV medications, drips, and emergency interventions safely.


• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate patient care.


• Perform frequent patient assessments and adjust care plans as needed.


• Educate patients’ families about conditions, treatments, and recovery expectations.


• Document assessments, interventions, and progress accurately and in a timely manner.


• Maintain adherence to hospital policies, infection control standards, and evidence-based ICU practices.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in Tennessee (or compact license).


• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).


• Minimum of 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience.


• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred.


• COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.


• Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills.


• Ability to remain effective in high-stress, fast-paced clinical settings.
