ICU Nurse Practitioner

POSITION SUMMARY

Works in collaboration with hospital physicians to manage care for patients in a intensive care unit which includes, but is not limited to, patient admission, assessment and discharge process; ordering interpreting and dictation of the results of clinical tests and reporting results to physicians; prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Makes patient rounds.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Graduate of accredited program of professional nursing. MSN required.


• Currently licensed in State of Louisiana to practice advanced professional nursing. Must have the ability to identify and address the special needs of all patients in pertinent areas.


• Expertise in critical care


• BLS required within 30 days. All other certifications due within 90 days of hire ie, ACLS, PALS, ETC.
