Position Description:
We are looking for experience with two different tools, the Oracle experience will be weighted less as the organization looks to move away from Oracle products.
Tools: Oracle Directory Services NetIQ / MicroFocus Access Manager
Primary responsibilities of the role are Administration & Support. Plus upgrades. GFS is on current versions today. In the next year, the plan is to begin migrating to a new tool, which will require this person to be involved as well.
Job Summary:
The System Administrator will be responsible for managing and supporting Oracle Directory Services and NetIQ / MicroFocus Access Manager. The role involves ensuring the reliability, availability, and security of the directory services and access management systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration, particularly in identity and access management, and will be capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration:
Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Directory Services and NetIQ / MicroFocus Access Manager.
Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades.
User and Access Management:
Manage user accounts, permissions, and roles within the directory services and access management systems.
Implement and enforce security policies and procedures.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure the security of the systems by implementing best practices and adhering to regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
Troubleshooting and Support:
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for issues related to Oracle Directory Services and NetIQ / MicroFocus Access Manager.
Respond to and resolve incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Generate regular reports on system performance, incidents, and other relevant metrics.
Collaboration and Training:
Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of the directory and access management systems.
Train and mentor junior staff and end-users on the effective use of the systems.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
Experience:
Proven experience in system administration, specifically with Oracle Directory Services and NetIQ / MicroFocus Access Manager.
Experience with identity and access management solutions.
Familiarity with security best practices and regulatory requirements.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in administering Oracle Directory Services.
Proficiency in administering NetIQ / MicroFocus Access Manager.
Strong understanding of LDAP, SSO, SAML, OAuth, and other authentication protocols.
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications in Oracle Directory Services, NetIQ / MicroFocus Access Manager, or related technologies.
Experience with cloud-based identity and access management solutions.
Knowledge of other directory services and access management tools.
