KIPP Indy Public Schools (KIPP Indy) was founded in 2004 with one class of fifth-grade students and has grown to serve 1,500 students across four schools. Of the students that attend KIPP Indy, 98% qualify for free and reduced lunch, 92% are African American or LatinX, 13% receive special education services, and 18% are designated as Multilingual Learners. KIPP Indy is seeking a committed and innovative Middle School Math Teacher to join our team of educators. This role requires a teacher who is dedicated to ensuring that all students develop a strong mathematical foundation through engaging lessons that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for math instruction, a commitment to fostering student achievement, and a willingness to continuously grow and improve through feedback and collaboration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned math lessons that foster a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and promote problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Implement a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learners, including real-world applications of math concepts.
• Regularly assess student progress, analyze data, and adjust instructional practices to ensure academic growth and mastery of content.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Maintain high expectations for student achievement and behavior, while providing targeted support for students who need additional academic or behavioral assistance.
• Build strong relationships with students and families, ensuring consistent communication to support student success.
• Collaborate with colleagues and academic coaches to align curriculum, share best practices, and continually improve teaching practices.
• Be open and receptive to feedback, working with academic coaches to reflect on instructional practices and identify growth opportunities.
• Take ownership of your professional development and seek opportunities for learning and growth.
• Participate in school-wide events, professional development, and family engagement activities to strengthen the school community.

• Valid Indiana teaching license or in the process of applying for reciprocity with a valid out-of-state license (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (required).
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in middle school math (preferred).
• Experience using data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes (preferred).
• Commitment to equity, high expectations, and the belief that all students can succeed (required).
• Openness to feedback and commitment to continuous improvement (required).
• Pass a criminal background check, as required by law (required).

Licensed teacher starting at $50,000

Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a highly competitive benefits package. Opportunities for performance-based bonuses are also available.
