Job Description - IMOC - Duplication Specialist

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled individual to join our team as a Duplication Specialist on the Integrated Mission Operations Contract III (IMOC III) at NASA's Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas. This role is essential in supporting customers by developing, managing, and duplicating mission-critical documentation and training materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital printing systems, document design, and customer service.

 

The candidate will also perform duplication services and Government Publishing Office (GPO) functions for JSC. Specifically, they will coordinate and manage GPO-assigned requests for applicable jobs received through the IMOC III duplication facility. Responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of job requests, providing required reporting, and ensuring timely deliveries. Proficiency in printing terminology, Windows OS, specialized printing products and processes, and the software listed below is required.

 

Work Environment:

This position requires on-site work at JSC in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. Occasional overtime or shift flexibility may be necessary to meet mission timelines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

* Interface directly with customers to gather requirements for training and mission documentation.

* Develop solutions for customer needs, including prototypes and updates to existing documentation.

* Cross-train in supplies forecasting and Flight Class 1, 2, and 3 inventory processes.

* Utilize Adobe Creative Suite, Fiery Command Workstation, and Xerox FreeFlow to manipulate and prepare flight documentation.

* Create custom document templates using Fiery Workstation tools.

* Operate and maintain high-capacity Xerox printers and servers.

* Cross-train on all finishing equipment and Technical Support and Training Instructions (TSTI) procedures.

* Coordinate with vendors and other GPO offices across the U.S., and track vendor assignments.

* Document job requests and coordinate printing tasks in accordance with GPO contracts and vendor processes.

* Update data from the Print Request/JF31 GPO form in GPO and other databases.

* Manage schedules for all requests and perform proof reviews and quality checks on all products, including those from vendors and GPO offices.

* Provide reports to NASA and contract management as required.






Requirements

 

Qualifications:

* Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat).

* Experience with Fiery Command Workstation and Xerox FreeFlow.

* Working knowledge of high-capacity Xerox printers and servers.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

* Familiarity with inventory management systems and forecasting tools is preferred.

* Experience in a flight operations or aerospace documentation environment is a plus.

The candidate must have a solid understanding of computer peripheral devices such as image scanners, servers, controllers, and printing equipment. They must be able to set up duplication jobs using templates and submit print masters to a variety of mid and high-performance black-and-white and color print systems. Proficiency in operating color digital print systems and finishing equipment is required, including cutting, drilling, laminating, and comb-binding.

 

Excellent communication, coordination, configuration management, and organizational skills are essential. The candidate must be able to interface effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong professional and interpersonal skills are a must.

 

Education/Experience:

A high school diploma is required; a technical degree is preferred. Candidates must have in-depth technical knowledge, training, and skills relevant to the printing industry, with a minimum of four years of related experience.
