The Role
As an Ocean & Air Import Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for managing international import shipments, ensuring seamless coordination between customers, overseas offices, carriers, customs brokers, and transportation providers.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing end-to-end ocean and air import shipments Coordinating cargo movements from origin to final destination Liaising with airlines, shipping lines, customs brokers, and trucking partners Ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and international trade regulations Monitoring shipment milestones and proactively resolving delays or issues Preparing and reviewing shipping documentation and import files Providing exceptional customer service and shipment visibility Managing billing, invoicing, and shipment profitability Building strong relationships with customers and global partners
What We're Looking For
Experience in Ocean Import, Air Import, Freight Forwarding, or International Logistics Strong understanding of international shipping documentation and import processes Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and freight forwarding operations Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously Experience using freight forwarding or transportation management systems A proactive, solutions-focused approach
