Job Description - In House Counsel - Labor & Employment Attorney (Hybrid)

LHH Recruitment is seeking a

Junior Labor and Employment Attorney (3+ years)

to serve as Associate Counsel for a highly-successful and

well-established national company

who is expanding their legal department in order to meet the demands of their fast-growing business. This position will report to the Senior Labor & Employment Counsel. While this company has been in business for decades, they continue to grow at a rapid pace and as such

this opportunity brings significant growth potential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide strategic legal counsel on labor and employment-related matters, including human resources issues; wage and hour law disputes; restrictive covenants; workers’ compensation issues; unemployment and other state agency claims; labor relations; employee benefits; employee relations; employment agreements and policy related issues; etc.
Conduct internal investigations regarding issues related to harassment, discrimination, and/or retaliation claims
Supports the Company’s employment-related regulatory filings including California Say-on-Pay, EEOC, Veterans, and similar reports
Provides day-to-day legal support and counseling to the Company’s business partners, operations management, Human Resources, and other colleagues
Provide training on relevant labor and employment law issues and legal updates to the Company’s business partners, operations management, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Provides policy updates and identifies training needs in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies
Elevate matters to the attention of the Senior Labor and Employment Counsel, General Counsel, or other Legal team members as needed
Supervises, manages, and evaluates support staff on labor and employment-related matters, including litigation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

JD from an ABA approved law school and licensed in CA
3+ years of labor and employment experience with a corporate legal department or law firm
Knowledge of CA employment laws and regulations
