IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Inclusion Manager

HOURS: Vary: Determined by Inclusion Manager in consideration with summer registrations.

PAY RATE: $17.00/hour starting at or DOQ

JOB PURPOSE: To support and assist individuals with disabilities who participate in WSSRA Partner agencies’ summer day camp programs. To support and assist WSSRA Inclusion Aides assigned to work in partner agencies’ summer day camp programs.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 years experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in an inclusive setting.
  • College upperclassman or graduate in the fields of Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience and confidence in your abilities to interact with individuals of various ages who have various disabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with parents, park district staff, WSSRA Inclusion Partners, and other community contacts.
  • Must demonstrate reliability, dependability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Reliable mode of transportation needed in order to travel to and from program sites.

DUTIES:

  • Adhere to and ensure that all Inclusion Aides comply with partner agencies’ and WSSRA policies and safety programs.
  • Advocate for the participant. Provide disability awareness information, and emphasize the individual’s abilities and similarities.
  • Provide on-going support for Inclusion Aides, Site Directors, and partner agency staff in assisting the participants with the activity and with any accommodations needed in order to participate.
  • Provide behavior management suggestions to Inclusion Aides and partner agency staff.
  • Help develop, implement, and evaluate individual behavior/inclusion plans.
  • Help WSSRA Inclusion Aides and partner agency staff in problem-solving related to inclusion.
  • Attend all orientations and meetings as required.
  • Assist in some training of staff.
  • Track and turn in hours worked.
  • Complete documentation as required. May include observation and evaluation forms; incident/accident reports; participant notes; etc.
  • Communicate all incidents/accidents from the programs to the Inclusion Manager.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the Inclusion Manager to discuss observations, problem-solving,
