The Quality inspector will verify correct wiring, components, program controllers, and conduct electrical testing of switchboard products and components, as required, per applicable test procedure and/or component literature with the overall goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton\u2019s quality standards. \nMaking what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. It\u2019s where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential\u2014and where you can help us reach ours. \n \n\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: \n\n\u2022 Inspect and Hi-Pot switchboard product produced on all lines, according to inspection work instructions and in accordance with applicable governmental requirements, to confirm proper function of switchboards and electrical components, identify any product non-conformances, and ensure it meets customer specification, safety and quality requirements. Document inspections made on applicable checklist. \n\u2022 Use Hi-Pot, continuity test, and component-specific testing devices to perform electrical testing. Verify switches and circuit breakers function properly. Verify torqued connections using torque wrench, per inspection instructions. Conduct electrical and mechanical tests per safety and training requirements and procedures. (Hi-Pot) \n\u2022 Examine and verify mating structures (all structures in a line-up) as necessary to ensure that job is complete and field installation is problem-free (i.e. splice plate dimensions, kirk key coordination, etc). \n\u2022 Verify that any revisions released to the production floor regarding functionality and customer specifications are incorporated into the product, all documentation reflects the current revision, and previous revisions of documents are not used / discarded. (Process and Update paperwork accurately \u2013 POM, test reports, etc.) \n\u2022 Thoroughly document and communicate non-conformances, which are critical quality records, and verify required rework to aid problem solving and continuous improvement efforts. Communicate design errors to appropriate front-end personnel for correction, obtain revisions, and verify required rework. \n\u2022 Serve as informal trainer for production associates, communicate well with other associates, and build positive relationships that support job objectives and teamwork. Helping particularly for complex tasks and for product requirements that may not be precisely defined (i.e. barrier placement). \n\u2022 Troubleshoot, update, develop test setups and new procedures when current procedures are inaccurate. \n\u2022 When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we \u2014 as individuals and as a company \u2014 are stronger. \n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n\u2022 High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution. \n\u2022 Minimum of 6 months manufacturing, production, or military experience OR a degree in a technical discipline \n\u2022 Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. \n\u2022 No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Eaton El Paso, TX facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position.\n\n \nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Two or more years of experience in a Quality or Inspector position in a manufacturing environment. \n\u2022 Experience in switchboard assembly. \n\u2022 Computer literate. \n\u2022 Working knowledge of Lean concepts. \n\u2022 Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Electronics. \n\n## Skills:\n\nSPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: \n\u2022 Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within a team environment. \n\u2022 Knowledge of basic electricity, current flow, and component functionality schematics/wiring diagrams and assembly processes on all lines. (Hi-Pot, Shunt Trip). \n\u2022 Knowledge of all assembled SWBD product designs (i.e. PRL-C, PRL-I, IFS, FDS, MF, etc.) \n\u2022 Experience in applicable UL codes, NEC codes, regional utility codes, customer-specific requirements. \n\u2022 Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret manufacturing documents, including front view, MIs, Blow-Thru, Wiring Diagrams, component literature, engineering drawings, and testing procedures. \n\u2022 Requires thorough knowledge of basic electricity, current flow and component functionality. \n\n## Additional Information: \n\n\u2022 Candidate must be able to travel outside of the continental United States including, but not limited to, the Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Canada.\n\n#IND123\n\n#IND456\n\n#LI-KM1\n\n#LI-RR2\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
