About the Role
As an Independent Vascular Access RN, you'll collaborate directly with our facility partners to troubleshoot, place, and manage vascular access devices. You'll function as both a clinical expert and a problem-solver, bringing precision and confidence to every patient interaction.
This is a mobile role, with visits dispatched based on region and facility needs. Nurses operate independently with mileage reimbursement and full clinical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Place PICC lines, midlines, and ultrasound-guided peripheral IVs
- Use ECG-based confirmation when required
- Manage and troubleshoot vascular access devices (declotting, line removal, dressing changes, etc.)
- Perform port access and de-access procedures
- Document procedures and report findings to facility contacts and the Vellum team
- Educate local staff when needed on CVAD maintenance and best practices
- Maintain a high standard of independent clinical judgment while on-site
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Active RN License in the state of Texas
- 2+ years of recent PICC/midline/vascular access experience
- Comfortable working independently in the field with mobile navigation tools
- Confident with ultrasound-guided procedures
- Holds current BLS certification
- Valid Driver’s License + reliable personal vehicle
- Able to complete documentation electronically via smartphone
Schedule & Flexibility
We offer full-time, part-time, and PRN options depending on market needs:
Full-time: 3–4 shifts/week (7am–7pm typical range)
Part-time: 2+ days/week
PRN: Minimum of 4 shifts/month, including occasional weekends
