Job Description - Indirect Dealer Representative

Description

Hours: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm, Mon - Fri, with some evenings and weekends

Pay: $25.00/hr+, DOE

Your Purpose will be:

The person in this position will be responsible for cultivating and enhancing relationships with auto dealerships in person and by telephone. The representative will analyze data associated with indirect lending and recommend and execute action plans based on data trends. This person will vet new and existing dealerships to protect the credit union and its members from potential fraud. Also, every employee is responsible for fulfilling our Mission Statement: To improve the financial well-being of our members, while providing world class service.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain and develop dealer relationships for indirect lending.
  • Effectively manage and market local dealer relationships to achieve all quality, pricing and volume objectives.
  • Contact and visit current and prospective dealers to present information on indirect lending services including new products and marketing promotions. 
  • Create focused dealer action plans to increase indirect applications.
  • Provide dealerships with data on portfolio performance.
  • Vet dealerships to prevent fraud and unnecessary risk.
  • Analyze industry trends, credit union trends, and dealership trends and compile monthly statistics for management.
  • Act as a liaison between dealers, the credit union, and CU Direct.
  • Provide new loan/product suggestions to management.
  • Assist in collections, chargebacks, and lien-placement activities as needed.
  • Support credit quality and compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of indirect underwriting and funding.
  • Perform other projects as assigned.
  • Understands the Bank Secrecy Act and how it is applied.

Requirements

The experience you need to succeed:

  • Must have High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
  • Three to five years of experience in indirect lending or equivalent sales experience within the dealer market or financial institution.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license for required travel.
  • Proficient with standard office business machinery and software.
  • Computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to be flexible with scheduling for occasional weekend events. 

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Works primarily in a hybrid office environment, with some in-office days, and frequent trips into field environment locations. This includes but is not limited to various outdoor and indoor climates, public venues, and driving conditions. (Hybrid or work from home employees must be able to report in office if required.)
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly need to: see, talk, hear, and perform repetitive movements with arms, hands and fingers to handle, feel, grasp and reach. A computer, phone, and standard office equipment are normal tools for this position. Specific vision abilities that may be required by this job include close vision and distance vision. The employee may at times also need to: climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
