Job Description - Indirect Lending Administrator

Are you looking for a rewarding career with an organization that puts people first? Credit Union of Georgia (CUofGA) is looking for a talented indirect lending administrator to help our credit union continue to grow.  

The Indirect Lending Administrator directs and coordinates all indirect loan activities within the Credit Union ensuring compliance with Credit Union lending policies. This role is responsible for the sales and service of the program as well as the quality of underwriting within lending policies and procedures. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for upholding and adhering to Credit Union of Georgia brand standards including following all of the steps of our unique member journEASE experience to Engage, Ask, Solve and Excite and deliver top level member service every time.
  • Develops goals, objectives and priorities for Indirect Lending as directed by management.
  • Responsible for daily oversight of the Indirect program including but not limited to: ensuring FASB records are correct, managing the dealer chargeback process, takes action to resolve problems, maintains interest rates, and responds timely to applications submitted for decisioning. 
  • Develops, implements, and maintains system tools to track and analyze indirect lending programs and trends.  Prepares indirect program for participation sales in secondary market.
  • Primarily underwrites indirect loans but assists with the underwriting and processing of direct loans. 
  • Manages and maintains a positive business relationship between the Credit Union, the dealerships, and any third-party vendors, such as CRIF Select. Responsible for managing the retention and expansion of Dealer relationships.
  • Ensures proper cross training of staff regarding job functions and product knowledge. 
  • Oversees the lending functions in Indirect Lending to ensure the quality of loans, sound credit decision practices and the administration of credit union policy. 
  • Assists in the training of staff and management in the evaluation of loan applications.
  • Develops and maintains indirect lending policies and procedures that protect the credit union and members’ best interests. Develop ways to help increase usage of credit union services by members who join the Credit Union through indirect lending.
  • Responsible for product development, implementation, and management.
  • Manages daily operations of the credit card lending program. Effectively reviews and decisions loan applications, evaluates existing credit lines, oversight of program rates and guidelines.  Also provides input and recommendations for the credit card program to management. 
  • Establishes and maintains an effective system of communication that ensures all procedures are clearly communicated.
  • Completes SARs (Suspicious Activity Reports) when applicable according to policies and procedures set forth by the Credit Union, in accordance with BSA/AML regulations, and reports to the appropriate parties in a timely manner.
  • Manages the program with respect to sales culture, service quality, loan portfolio and fiscal profitability aspects of the business. 
  • Actively looks for ways to enhance relationships with members and dealerships in accordance with the Credit Unions’ business values and guidelines.
  • Ensures policies and procedures, as approved by the Board of Directors, are followed.
  • Keeps management fully informed on operational matters requiring attention.
  • Follows security and loss prevention procedures.
  • Assists with departmental budgets that are consistent with the strategic plan and overall budget.
  • Prepares reports as directed by management.
  • Oversees staff follow-up efforts and the utilization of techniques used to promote and reach desired sales and service results.
  • Provides reports to management to assist with requests from regulators, auditors, and vendors.
  • Follows credit union policies and procedures and adheres to NCUA guidelines and regulations.
  • Attends appropriate committee meetings and reports in areas of responsibility as requested by management.
  • Performs additional duties as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Two years to five years financial institution experience required. 
  • Supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Loan/Member Service experience required.
  • Prior lending experience at a financial institution required – credit union experience preferred. 

Education/Training

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of Credit Union / Financial Institution education and/or experience required.
  • All employees must complete annual training modules including but not limited to cyber security, bank secrecy act as well as other compliance and regulatory requirements.
