Creative Financial Staffing has partnered with a global player in the energy sector to identify an Indirect Tax Manager. This remote position is an individual contributor role. There will be requirements to come into their Boston office 1-3x’s/quarter.

- The Position: The Indirect Tax Manager is responsible for indirect tax pursuits, such as sales and use tax and motor fuel tax returns assisting with federal and state income tax audits; and ensuring proper registration status with IRS and local governments.

The Indirect Tax Manager’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure timely completion of monthly state fuel tax returns and sales and use tax returns.
- Collaborate with external audit firm to gather information for corporate tax returns and actively participate in domestic governmental audits.
- Analyze and implement recent tax reform measures and contribute to U.S. transfer pricing processes and documentation.
- Assist in tax planning, including rolling tax projections and cash forecasting components.
- Manage tax projects and studies conducted by external audit firms and consultants.
- Conduct technical research and documentation as needed for tax-related matters, ensuring compliance.
- Monitor and assist in various contract true-ups between the company and capital partners, including property tax compliance, renditions, and returns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, finance and or related field;
- 7+ years tax experience in Corporate Tax or Public Accounting
- CPA preferred but not required
- Technical knowledge of corporate federal income tax and multi-state income/franchise tax is helpful in this role
- Experience with sales and use tax a plus
- Knowledge of motor fuel industry or renewable fuels a plus
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
