Individual Aide

K.E.L.L.Y. Youth Services, Inc. (KYS) Individual Aide is contracted for the purpose of providing one-on-one care- their primary responsibility is to work with client in need of particular attention assisting case management team in supervision, care and instruction of behavioral or special need of client. Individual Aide shall create and maintain meaningful relationship with client to ensure maximum benefit of additional service. 

Responsibilities: 

The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required. 

• Work with client on a one-on-one basis by providing undivided attention 
• Work with case manager to implement behavioral plans to meet clients’ needs for social, educational, cognitive, mental and physical development 
• Observe students for signs of deterioration or improvement and document and report either / both. 
• Respond to emergency situations such as injuries, fights or medical issues to immediate resolution 
• Intervene in potential conflicts utilizing appropriate physical and/or therapeutic approaches for the purpose of diffusing confrontations and minimizing disruptions. 
• Be well informed of information about client such as trauma or physical limitations for further reference  
• Monitor clients daily schedule and behavior for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment 
• Provide secure and responsive environment so that client may have the opportunity to maximize his/her physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual capabilities 
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of and complies with company policies and procedures 
• Maintain knowledge of clients’ medical histories to ensure that any medical emergencies are handled appropriately 
• Support client in all aspects of client provided services, including educational, community, employment, placement agency and medical needs 
• Maintain professional boundaries with all organizational stakeholders 
• Responsible for implementation of Life Skills Learning Plan for individual client 
• Observe and evaluate client activity to report on a monthly to placement agency 

 Qualifications: 

• High School diploma or GED (Required) 
• Caregiving/Direct Care support: 1 year (Required) 
• Must demonstrate emotional maturity and patience necessary to understand and accept the social, psychological and emotional needs of at-risk youth population 
• Must have the ability to represent KYS in a positive manner within the community 
• Ability to work 4-12 hour shifts 
• Must be at least 21 years of age, have valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record 
• Local, state and federal background checks required 

• Ohio Administrative Code Requirements: 
• Must pass BCI criminal record check 
• Must pass FBI criminal record check 
• Must pass Ohio SACWIS Alleged Perpetrator of Child Abuse/Neglect Search as well as Alleged Perpetrator Search of any other state resided in within the past five years 
• Must pass United States Department of Justice Sex Offender Search
