Position Summary:
We are seeking an Industrial Manufacturing Balancer who will provide excellent support to our production team at our Salt Lake City, UT location. The successful candidate will be a highly collaborative team member with a positive outlook and a determined work ethic. We need an exceptionally well-organized teammate who effectively plans and performs the balancing of all sizes and types of industrial wheels for our large wheel department.
Responsibilities:
- Receive job assignments and instructions from the Group Leader for balancing all types and sizes of industrial wheels.
- Obtain and maintain a Level II certification for dye penetrant and magnetic particle inspection levels. *Robinson Fans Inc. will provide employees with the necessary training and testing to obtain the certification.
- Use overhead cranes or jib hoist to move and position wheels in the balancing machines
- Mount shafts and wheels into the balancing machine, install drive unit, clamps, etc.
- Operate balancing machine at various speeds and use static and dynamic tests to determine imbalance, faulty quality and improper operation of wheel
- Take readings from the balancing machine to determine location of weights to be added. Add weights by tacking and rerun test.
- Either the Balancer or a Welder will weld permanent weights in place, as instructed
- Use chipping hammer and/or grinder to remove flux and spatter
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Experience with micrometers strongly preferred
- Able to use all balancing units, welding units, power tools, magnetic particle, dye penetrant units, and overhead cranes
- Must take initiative and be able to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the team
- Extreme attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects at once
- Must be able to wear a respirator if/when needed, lift up to 50lbs, wear safety boots, climb ladders and hear safety alarms.
