Industrial Electrician

Role Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical & Controls Technician to join our Rock Island facility. In this role, you’ll be a key problem solver for automated equipment, electrical systems, and plant controls.

Pay range: $34-$40/hr + $2/hr shift premium after 4pm

Location: Rock Island, IL

Schedule: The position currently operates Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, but hours will gradually extend later into the evening. Our long-term plan is to transition this role into a night shift, so schedule flexibility is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control systems throughout the plant
• Diagnose issues in automation systems and related components (PLCs, VFDs, fieldbus networks)
• Replace or commission devices with configuration or backup reloading
• Maintain and update electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Collaborate with team members to support plant operations

Required Skills/Abilities

• Strong understanding of industrial electronics and control systems
• Proficiency with electrical diagnostics tools (multimeter, etc.)
• Experience with 24VDC, 240VAC, and 480VAC systems
• Knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMIs
• Ability to read and update PLC programs from backups
• Familiarity with VFDs (SEW, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Lenze)
• Experience with fieldbuses such as Profibus, Profinet, ASi
• Working knowledge of industrial safety devices (e-stops, light curtains, safety doors)
• Basic networking skills (IP addressing, routers/switches)
• Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
• Experience using AutoCAD for electrical diagrams
• Programming experience (Microsoft Visual Studio C#, VB)

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Industrial Engineering or related field
• Master or Journeyman Electrical License (required)
• 3–5 years of related industrial experience
• Strong hands-on experience integrating automation and support systems in a manufacturing environment
• Flexibility to work varying hours as needed
