Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Lake in the Hills, IL

Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Compensation: $34.00/hr plus $2.50 shift differential

AFC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to ensure the efficient operation of our manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining industrial equipment using hand and power tools. They will work with other employees to maintain the equipment and optimize processes. What You'll Do

• Performs routine preventive maintenance inspections on all manufacturing equipment.
• Monitors equipment for proper operation, and makes adjustments and repairs to optimize machine performance.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in electrical controls and mechanical parts of machinery.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, schematic drawings, and manufacturer’s instructions.
• Determines materials and supplies needed to accomplish maintenance and repair.
• Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
• Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
• Accomplishes all work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production and improve plant efficiency.
• Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
• Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
• Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
• Supports projects 24 hours per day in case of emergencies

What You'll Bring

• High school diploma or GED with equivalent related experience required
• Minimum of 5 years industrial maintenance experience required
• Automated equipment control experience
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs and standards
• Demonstrated strategic thinking skills; able to develop and execute long-term plans
• Experience with major repairs
• Electrical, Mechanical, PLC, and Fabrication experience
• Must be able to train on 1st shift
