Senior Industrial Maintenance Technician – 3rd Shift
Location: North Carolina – Mebane 
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Employment Type: Full-Time
Shift: 3rd Shift – 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM


About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations on the 3rd shift. This position will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and continuous improvement of complex manufacturing equipment and automated systems.


The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with injection molding, compression molding, composite molding, or rotational molding equipment, along with expertise in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, robotics, and automation systems.


Key Responsibilities




  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing machinery and equipment.




  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.




  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions using test instruments, schematics, technical manuals, and knowledge of machine operation.




  • Install, maintain, modify, and improve manufacturing machines, equipment, automation, and support systems.




  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, robots, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo drives, motors, and positioning/feedback systems.




  • Read, interpret, modify, and create electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.




  • Install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic piping systems and material handling equipment.




  • Perform machine shop work using drill presses, grinders, mills, lathes, and other metalworking equipment.




  • Perform welding and fabrication using MIG, TIG, stick, oxy/acetylene, plasma, and related equipment.




  • Inspect and measure components to identify wear, misalignment, damage, or other equipment issues.




  • Lead machine modifications and continuous improvement projects to increase reliability, uptime, and production output.




  • Install and program automated machinery, robots, and programmable controllers.




  • Document repairs, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions in the CMMS system.




  • Assist with developing and maintaining preventive and corrective maintenance procedures and checklists.




  • Train and mentor other maintenance technicians on equipment operation, repair techniques, procedures, and new machinery.




  • Coordinate with vendors when required for equipment repairs, parts, services, and technical support.




  • Initiate purchase requisitions for required parts, services, and equipment.




  • Identify potential equipment failures and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.




  • Maintain tools, equipment, work areas, and materials in a safe and organized condition.




  • Follow all safety, quality, PPE, and company procedures.




  • Work overtime and adjust schedules as needed to support business requirements.




Required Qualifications




  • 8–10+ years of preventive and corrective maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.




  • Experience in one or more of the following manufacturing processes:




    • Injection Molding




    • Compression Molding




    • Composite Molding




    • Rotational Molding






  • Technical degree/certificate from a two- or four-year college or technical school OR 10–15 years of equivalent hands-on industrial manufacturing experience.




  • Strong troubleshooting experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.




  • Advanced ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.




  • Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment, PLCs, robotics, VFDs, servo drives, and motors.




  • Ability to use maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, forklifts, hoists, chains, straps, and slings.




  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a maintenance/manufacturing team.




  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.




  • Reliable attendance and a strong record of employment stability.




  • Ability to work the 3rd shift, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM.




  • Ability to work overtime and accommodate schedule changes based on business needs.




  • Ability to work safely in environments where respiratory protection may be required.

Experience with the following equipment is highly preferred:




  • Haitian 2- and 3-platen injection molding machines




  • JSW hydraulic/electric injection molding machines




  • Husky hydraulic injection molding machines




  • Blow molding machines




  • Uniloy/Structural Web molding machines




  • Star and Yushin robots




  • Ferry rotational molding machines




  • Compression press molding machines




  • Martin Pultrusion molding machines




  • Conair and Universal Dynamics (Una-Dyn) material handling equipment




  • Matsui dryer/material handling equipment
