We are actively seeking a skilled and motivated Electro Mechanic I to join our growing manufacturing operations team in Elk Grove Village, IL. Key Responsibilities
As an Electro Mechanic I, you will play a critical role in ensuring optimal equipment performance and minimizing downtime. Your responsibilities will include:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment
Support production by quickly responding to equipment breakdowns and minimizing downtime
Maintain and troubleshoot PLC systems and industrial motor controls
Work with equipment such as extruders, laminators, slitters, and printing machines
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Industrial manufacturing experience OR military experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
Hands-on experience working with manufacturing machinery and automated systems
Strong knowledge of PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar systems preferred)
Experience with industrial motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and control circuits
Ability to troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical issues
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in the following areas will stand out:
Blown film extrusion
Sheet extrusion
Flexographic printing
Lamination processes
Slitting equipment
Experience with ancillary equipment in plastics or packaging manufacturing environments
