Job Description - Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher



Founded in 1890, the Trager Family Jewish Community Center (JCC) is a nonprofit agency dedicated to enriching lives through physical, intellectual, and spiritual wellness. Open to the entire community, we offer robust programming in health and wellness, education, Jewish culture, youth and senior engagement, and more.


Our Early Learning Center, located within the state-of-the-art Roth Family Education Center, serves 165 children in 12 developmentally focused classrooms. Our facilities include an interactive playground, a serene outdoor classroom, and safe, stimulating learning environments tailored for young children.

Your Role


We are currently hiring an Assistant Infant and Toddler Teachers for our Mobile Infant and Toddler Classrooms. If you're passionate about early childhood development and love working with young children in a nurturing environment, we want to meet you!


Key Responsibilities



  • Engage joyfully and sensitively with children, encouraging exploration and development.

  • Support classroom routines and implement behavior management strategies.

  • Prepare a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment.

  • Follow each child's individual schedule and document daily activities and milestones.

  • Participate actively in play, care routines, and classroom experiences.

  • Be physically able to interact with children at their level (sitting on floor, lifting, etc.).


Qualifications



  • Experience with infants or toddlers in a licensed childcare setting is preferred.

  • Understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices.

  • A nurturing, patient, and positive attitude.

  • Must meet state licensing requirements for background checks and health/safety training.
