Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintenance and organization of Infection Prevention activities and data collection.
Actively supports staff education across Infection Prevention and Quality Improvement.
Participates in activities of performance improvement investigation and follow-up by educating staff on findings.
Responsible for assisting in writing policy and procedure related to updated standards with The Joint Commission, also to provide education to the staff after the approval of such policies.
Supports evaluation of quality of care and patient outcomes as assigned
Collects, prepares and analyzes healthcare-associated infection data
Collaborates with director on presentation of infection data and makes data and research supported recommendations for actions
Monitors employee compliance in use of barriers and infection prevention measures
Prepares and presents educational offerings for the staff
Supports departmental rounding to support facility excellence
Serves as a resource to all departments and personnel for quality improvement in all areas
Implements programs to protect the healthcare workers, visitors, and others in the healthcare environment
Sets and recommends policies and procedures to prevent adverse events
Provides internal and external reporting of information and data
Promotes compliance with regulations, guidelines, and accreditation requirements.
Supports orientation education as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
A minimum of two years of progressive clinical experience in an acute facility preferred.
A minimum of two years experience in Quality Management and/or infection control preferred.
A minimum of one-year experience with internal and external data management systems.
Current license as a Registered Nurse or related healthcare field in the State of Tennessee.
Knowledge of hospital organizations, committees, department functions, and performance improvement activities.
Effective communication, organizational and leadership skills, independent decision-making, and ability to handle multiple projects.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of TJC, Medicare, and The State of Tennessee standards.
