As an Infection Preventionist V, you will play a crucial role in the development, implementation, and management of infection prevention and control programs aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and staff. Leveraging your expertise in epidemiology, you will conduct surveillance, identify infection control challenges, and deliver educational initiatives while ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulatory standards. **Key Responsibilities** **Infection Prevention Program Management:** You will be responsible for developing and implementing infection prevention and control programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal standards. This includes conducting routine on-site assessments of clinical environments and infection prevention practices, monitoring infection cases in alignment with an annual prevention plan, and adhering to CDC and NHSN standards. **Surveillance and Data Analysis:** Your role will involve the proactive identification and monitoring of infection control issues, disease outbreaks, and pandemics. You will conduct surveillance programs to analyze rates, trends, and exposures, synthesizing findings from investigations and escalating concerns to leadership as appropriate. **Education and Training:** You will design and deliver educational programs on infection prevention and control for hospital staff and clinical teams. Additionally, you will address customer feedback and learning needs to enhance training materials and techniques. **Performance Improvement:** Your responsibility will include evaluating infection prevention programs to identify areas for improvement. You will participate in performance improvement initiatives and committees, recommending and implementing tools and methodologies to foster continuous improvement.
*Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** - **Certification:** Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is required within 24 months of hire. - **Experience: ** A minimum of 2 years in infection prevention, clinical quality management, or a related field. - **Healthcare/Professional
Experience:** - Master's degree with at least 5 years of experience (inclusive of 2 years in a directly related field), OR - Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience (inclusive of 4 years in a directly related field), OR - Registered Nurse (RN) with 9 years of experience (inclusive of 6 years in a directly related field), OR - A minimum of 10 years of experience in a directly related field without a degree.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): ** Candidates should possess expertise in infection control, including surveillance, hazard mitigation, and emergency preparedness. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills are essential, along with proficiency in health care compliance, data analytics, and outcome evaluation.
