We are looking for an Infection Prevention Nurse!
This position will oversee Lakewood's infection control and prevention program. You would be responsible for the development, implementation, surveillance, monitoring, education and general oversight of the community wide program. The position acts as a liaison with internal community leadership, staff, medical providers, external local health departments, area hospitals, and other required stakeholders. You would be an integral part of a team whose energy, compassion, creativity, and talents are valued and rewarded. Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Minimum of 2 years' work experience as an infection preventionist, or other RN position that demonstrates progressive leadership experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a direct resident/patient care setting, long term care experience preferred.
- Certification in infection control preferred; if not certified, will be required to complete Infection Prevention Specialized Training (IPCO) through AHCA within 6 months of hire.
- Maintains membership in APIC (Association for Professionals in Infection Control). Attends seminars and participates in educational offerings in order to stay current in knowledge required.
