INFECTION PREVENTIONIST NURSE (RN/LPN) – Generations at Oakton Pavillion, Des Plaines, IL

Generations at Oakton Pavillion in Des Plaines, IL, has an Opening for an Full Time Infection Control Nurse (Nursing Home Infection Preventionist). Must be either an LPN or an RN. IP Certification Preferred.

Minimally, Must Have the Following Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience as an IP Nurse
• Has Completed or Is in the Process of Completing at least the 19 hour CMS Infection Prevention/Control Course, or equivalent IP course

Salary of Between $72,800 - $90,000, (Depending if RN or LPN and/or if Certified), plus a Choice of Insurance Plans, PTO, 401k w/match, Opportunity for Advancement, and much more!

Schedule will be Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. However, Must be flexible to come in on weekends for unannounced surverys.

Responsibilities of the Infection Preventionist (RN/LPN):

• Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives
• Establish the documentation format for all Infection Control reporting
• Establish specific policies and procedures for Infection Control as it relates to the following departments: nursing; maintenance; laundry; dietary; rehabilitation; and ancillary services
• Monitor the documentation of incidents of infection 
• Address patterns or trends in the incidents of infection with appropriate follow-up and corrective action
• Supervise the performance of the corrective procedures by designated departments or individual staff
•  provide training and in services to facilitate their attainment of infection prevention goals
• Work as weekend Supervisor as part of manager on duty rotation

of the Infection Control Nurse (RN/LPN):

• Must be an experienced RN or LPN, licensed in the State of Illinois
• Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Certification preferred, or must  be in the process of completing the 19 hour On Line CMS Infection Prevention and Control Course
• Skilled Nursing Facility Infection Prevention Experience
• Must have working knowledge of general nursing and geriatric nursing
• Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, IDPH, HFS regulations
• Compassion, tolerance and understanding of older adults
