Infectious Preventionist/Wound Nurse

Ridgecrest Village is seeking a qualified Infection Preventionist/Wound Care Nurse for our beautiful retirement community.  Must be an RN and prefer previous experience. Responsible for the facility  infection prevention and control program which is designed to help prevent the development and transmission of communicable diseases and infections.

 Additionally responsible for:
     *Planning and executing care plans for residents exhibiting skin complications.
     *Educating residents, their family members and healthcare staff on the products and interventions required             for skin healing and maintenance.
     *Documenting orders, skin treatments and progress.
     *Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
     *Provide information to all staff on the clinical management of infectious disease.
      *Using clinical judgement and knowledge interpret microbiological and epidemiological data to assess, plan 
      and implement care for infectious residents.
     *Deal with occasional exposure to hazardous/biological substances or give advise on handling hardardous
      substances such as clinical waste, foul spillages and foul linen.
     *Work as a team to ensure effective utilization of beds and that infectious and susceptible residents are 
      placed in appropriate areas to minimize risk of infection.
     *Support staff in the investigation and management of outbreaks of infection.
     *Infection prevention tracking, documentation and monthly logs.

Hours are Monday thru Friday, typically 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with some flexibility.  Would be required to be on call rotation.  

Infection Prevention certification required at time of hire or within one month of hire.
     
Pre-employment background checks are required as well as pre-employment drug screening, TB and Physical, all done at our facility.
