Information Assurance/Security Specialist Senior

All hired employees are expected to have experience with Microsoft Copilot and / or an approved equivalent AI solution.

Required Qualifications

• Active DOD Secret Clearance


• Current Security + Certification


• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and CNSSI 1253 Security Controls


• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another relevant field is required. ​


• Foundational knowledge in IT systems, programming, and cybersecurity principles.


• A minimum of 3 to 6 years of IT and business/industry experience is required.


• Experience working with information assurance, cybersecurity frameworks, and IT systems in a professional environment. ​


• The candidate must comply with DoD 8570.01-M, DFARS 252.239-7001, and AR 25-2, which mandate appropriate baseline certifications for information assurance roles.


• CISSP, CISM, or other 8140 certifications highly desired.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with RMF processes, including implementing security controls, conducting assessments, and maintaining compliance documentation. ​


• Understanding of the NIST SP 800-53 and CNSSI 1253 Security Controls frameworks is essential for ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity standards. ​


• Hands-on experience in managing cybersecurity operations, conducting vulnerability assessments, and implementing security measures in line with federal regulations

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of systems to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards, including RMF and FISMA requirements. This includes identifying vulnerabilities, assessing risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.


• Report any control violation findings through the organization’s risk management framework or model.


• Develop and maintain plans of action and milestones (POA&Ms) for deviations from compliance. ​


• Maintain relevant documentation related to information security, including RMF and eMASS records.


• Ensure systems are compliant with DoD and Army cybersecurity policies and standards, and support the adoption of new security frameworks as required.
