SMX is seeking an Information Operations Planner to support the development, synchronization, and exploitation of operational and tactical level IO plans as part of SOCPAC’s IO campaign. To be successful candidate must be driven, motivated, self-starter and work well with multiple-stakeholders in a fluid, high OPTEMPO environment.
This position requires a DoD TS/SCI which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide the command with estimates of the information environment and audiences in certain regions as assigned.
- Develop plans for Government implementation to shape the environment to achieve COMSOCPAC objectives and support affiliated component units, governmental organizations, and partner nation forces missions.
- Assist in development of asymmetric options in the USINDOPACOM AOR in the form of Plans, CONOPs, and OAA that synchronize IRC including MILDEC, MISO, STO, CYBER, JEMSO, OPSEC, and PA into SOF OAA in target countries.
- Conduct non-lethal targeting of POIs and TAs in the physical, informational, and cognitive domains.
- Assist in planning operations that synchronize USSOF, USG Interagency Partners, and Partner Nations support of PACOM contingency plans.
- Develop a full range of SOF options focused on steady-state operations and the Crisis Management Framework in select countries and their periphery.
- Develop plans for Government implementation that enable SOCPAC to posture to provide operational support to strategic-level USINDOPACOM contingency planning in key niche areas that are currently not addressed within the USINDOPACOM / SOCOM or USG.
- Provide inputs into USINDOPACOM, SOCOM, and SOCPAC working groups, JPGs, and exercises.
- Monitor and analyze the Information Environment in designated countries to inform planning and detect measures of effectiveness.
- CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required.
Required Skills & Experience
- Must have a DoD Top Secret clearance and eligible for SCI access.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, or Asia-Pacific-related field of study.
- Five (5) years of experience integrating MILDEC, MISO, CYBER, STO, JEMSO, OPSEC, and/or PA into operational and tactical level functions.
- Two (2) years of experience planning, coordinating, and synchronizing asymmetric options in support of SOF operations.
- Six (6) years of operational level staff experience.
- Two (2) years or more military/Government civilian/Government contractor experience in the USINDOPACOM AOR.
- Eight to Twelve (8 - 12) years of experience in multi-disciplined intelligence operations supporting SOF at the tactical and operational levels.
Desired Skills & Experience
- At least three (3) years of experience in the INDOPACOM Theater
- Experience working in a multi-national environment
- Twelve (12) years of experience in multi-disciplined intelligence operations supporting SOF at the tactical and operational levels.
- High degree of effective communications (oral and written)
- High degree of interpersonal skills to work well with multiple stakeholders
