How you’ll contribute 

An Information Technology & Systems Technician who excels in this role:

  • Provides first-level technical support to internal customers across the facility, serving as the primary point of contact for hardware, software, and network service requests. 
  • Manages incidents from initial intake through resolution or escalation, ensuring timely and effective support that enables clinical and operational workflows. 
  • Collaborates with the ITS Leader and cross-functional support staff to deliver reliable technology services in accordance with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements and may also work in coordination with enterprise service desk resources as applicable.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for IT support requests via phone, email, walk-up, and enterprise ITSM ticketing system.
  • Performs initial diagnosis and troubleshooting of hardware, software, network connectivity, and peripheral issues for end users.
  • Resolves incidents and fulfill service requests at first level per established service level agreements; escalate complex issues to appropriate support teams with thorough documentation.
  • Provides both on-site deskside support and remote/phone-based support to facility staff.
  • Provides first-level support for business and clinical applications, including ticket triage, basic troubleshooting, and escalation to appropriate support resources.
  • Assists end users with account access, password resets, and user provisioning in accordance with enterprise security policies.
  • Delivers basic end-user training on applications, equipment, and standard workflows as needed.
  • Installs, configures, tests, and maintains desktop and laptop computers, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment in accordance with enterprise standards.
  • Performs minor hardware repairs, component replacements, and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintains accurate hardware and software inventory records.
  • Ensures all workstations and devices comply with enterprise security, configuration, and patching standards.
  • Documents all incidents, service requests, and resolutions accurately in the enterprise ITSM platform.

  • Tracks recurring issues and communicate patterns to the ITS Leader; may also identify and propose process improvements to reduce incident volume.

  • Contributes to knowledge base articles for common issues and standard operating procedures.

  • Supports infrastructure projects as directed, including workstation deployments, office moves, and equipment refreshes.
  • Assists with network infrastructure tasks as directed by the ITS Leader.
  • Participates in enterprise IT initiatives at the facility level, including system upgrades, security remediation, and technology refresh cycles; perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH) in the handling of protected health information and technology systems.
  • Follows enterprise change management, incident management, and information security processes.

 

What we’re looking for 

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.

 

Certifications:

  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent industry certification preferred.

 

Work Experience:

  • 1–2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or desktop support environment preferred.
  • Healthcare IT experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with enterprise ITSM platforms, Active Directory, and desktop operating systems.
  • Strong customer service orientation with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
  • Working knowledge of Windows desktop and laptop operating systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent support requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
