Job Description - Information Technology Asset Manager
COOK SYSTEMS has an immediate need for an IT Asset Manager to work in a hybrid-remote capacity: 3 days onsite per week.
Top Skills: This will be the primary person working with our vendor to establish our ITAM program, so they need to have good working knowledge of ITAM, and systems used to manage it. A candidate that can establish, implement Asset Management Work Instructions & Policies and Procedures. Budget management for IT assets and Asset team departmental resources. Certification in IT Asset Management (CITAM) preferred.
The IT Asset Manager is responsible for the daily and long-term strategic management of software and technology-related hardware within the organization. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording of software licenses and hardware assets. Works in sync with IT leadership to achieve financial optimization, risk management, and compliance with vendor contracts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles. Analyze IT asset management processes to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize asset utilization. Manage IT asset inventory, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement. Collaborate with IT department heads to forecast future asset needs and budget accordingly. Ensure compliance with licensing agreements and regulatory requirements. Provide reports on asset usage, maintenance, and disposal, and take action to optimize the asset portfolio. Coordinate with external vendors for procurement and disposal of assets. Meticulously review and approve relevant billing and financials. Identify opportunities for cost savings and reducing risks. Collaborate with other IT Support teams to ensure frequent knowledge transfer and alignment.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in IT, business administration, or related field. Sr level required/Minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT asset management or a related area who can work independently. Strong understanding of IT procurement, budgeting, and vendor management. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Certification in IT Asset Management (CITAM) preferred.
