Job Description
Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay is currently hiring an Information Technology Intern.
This is an Internship position and applicants must be in an approved Internship program with a college/university.
This is a 15-week paid internship, unless prohibited by college/university internship policy.
What will I do?
The Information Technology Intern will be responsible to independently answer trouble calls with Residents and Team Members and provide IT support assistance to business operations, including some or all of the following tasks:
- Systems and Network based projects
- Technical Writing - Creating and/or editing IT documentation
- Data entry and server based storage documentation maintenance
- Workstation Installation / Replacement
- Data Destruction
- Supply Inventory
- Network Cabling
- IT troubleshooting and answering IT questions
- Trouble Ticket resolution
EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS:
Students will learn about key IT business operations. Depending on interest and ability, some students may be able to develop independent projects that support our mission.
What do I need for this role?
- Coursework in Information Technology, Information Services, or associated software coursework.
- Demonstrated strong customer service orientation; serving the elder population preferred.
- Able to commit to working up to 35 hours per week.
- Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking, and the pushing and pulling of carts if necessary.
- Experience in Microsoft and Google Computer Applications.
- Information Technology certifications are preferred but not required.
