JOB SUMMARY:The System Administrator will be responsible for the availability, maintenance, and repair of systems in the enterprise environment. The System Administrator will ensure tasks are completed according to best practices and creating supporting documentation. This role provides tier 2 and 3 support for issues that have been escalated. This role will also work closely with our partners to integrate and implement new solutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Directly related experience may substitute for a degree or certifications on a year for year basis;Must have a three years of experience working with technology support for desktop hardware and software applications providing first call phone and desktop resolution for the client;Must have professional and technical experience working with Local Area and Wide Area Networks, desktop computers, hardware and software applications, upgrades, and installations;Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as Active Directory and Group Policy management;Proficiency in managing virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Nutanix;In-depth understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting;Familiarity with cloud-based services and platforms, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace for Education;Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data;Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and the Board may find appropriate.SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to create clear and comprehensive technical documentation.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serves as the lead worker, technical expert and systems administrator and engineer for systems in an integrated enterprise environment;Actively participates in the design, development, and implementation of highly complex systems and applications in accordance with authority goals and objectives;Implements backup policies in accordance with the enterprise data capture and recovery program;Implements and maintains system products and configurations and makes recommendations to ensure that the system has best practices based architecture and configurations in place;Maintains and monitors the school district's network infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity for users;Performs regular system updates, patches, and maintenance to optimize server performance and security;Provides tier 2 and tier 3 production support;Provides after hours production support on a rotational basis;Configures, maintains and upgrades systems components in addition to installing operating system and hardware components;Manages virtualization technologies to optimize server utilization and resource allocation;Oversees cloud-based services and platforms, including email, document collaboration, and learning management systems;Installs new systems as needed;Maintains accurate documentation ofIT systems, configurations, and procedures;Generates regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and IT-related metrics;Collaborates with the IT team and other stakeholders to plan and implement technology initiatives aligned with educational objectives;Stays up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends to recommend innovative solutions for educational needs;Performs other such duties needed or assigned by the Supervisor.
