Job Description - Infrastructure Engineer

Aspire Software is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Lebanon.

About the Role:

As the first infrastructure hire, you’ll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing the systems This is a hands-on role with significant autonomy and impact. You’ll work directly with the engineering and product teams to ensure our systems are performant, secure, and scalable as we grow. This role will evolve as we grow—initially, you’ll be responsible for everything infra-related. Over time, you’ll help us define what an infrastructure team should look like and play a key role in building it.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Ownership

  • Design, provision, and maintain AWS resources using Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Manage compute (EC2, ECS/EKS), storage (S3, EFS), databases (RDS, DynamoDB), networking (VPC, Load Balancers) and IAM policies

Container Platforms & Orchestration

  • Build, optimize, and troubleshoot Docker images and registries
  • Operate container clusters (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, or similar) and helm/chart deployments

CI/CD & Release Engineering

  • Architect and maintain end-to-end pipelines (GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
  • Automate build, test, security scanning, and rollout (blue/green, canary)
  • Enforce branch-and-release policies, code reviews, and pipeline guards

Monitoring, Logging & Alerting

  • Implement and tune observability (CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/EFK, Sentry, Datadog)
  • Define and track SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and operational metrics
  • On-call rotation, incident response playbooks, postmortems and runbook upkeep

Security & Compliance

  • Manage secrets (AWS Secrets Manager, HashiCorp Vault, Parameter Store) and rotate credentials
  • Enforce network, host, and container hardening best practices
  • Perform regular security scans and remediate vulnerabilities ●

Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Partner with dev teams to unblock releases, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize feedback loops
  • Document architecture, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
  • Identify and drive continuous improvements in cost, performance, reliability, and team workflows

Qualifications & Experience

  • 4+ years in Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering
  • Proven, hands-on experience running production workloads on AWS (including EC2,
  • RDS, S3, IAM, VPC)
  • Strong Docker skills and experience with container orchestration (ECS, EKS,
  • Kubernetes)
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI,
  • etc.)
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi)
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging stacks (CloudWatch, Grafana/Prometheus, ELK,
  • Datadog, Sentry)
  • Solid security mindset: IAM policies, secrets management, vulnerability scanning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication: you can explain complex setups clearly
  • A proactive problem-solver who owns the full lifecycle—from design to postmortem

Key Competencies

  • Experience scaling infrastructure early-stage or in hyper-growth environments
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes operators and custom resource definitions
  • Background in networking (VPC peering, Transit Gateways, VPN, service meshes)
  • Experience with cost-optimization tools and strategies in AWS
  • Prior on-call / incident management ownership
