Infusion Nurse - Per diem float

Suite Life is a dedicated infusion center serving patients from southeast & central MA and Rhode Island. We are looking for an exceptional nurse with both excellent clinical skills and interpersonal skills to work as a per diem float between our suites throughout MA and RI. Infusion related experience is preferred; the candidate must be proficient at placing peripheral IV catheters. Experience accessing ports is a plus but not required. Our operating hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm. No weekends, nights or on call.

Responsibilities:  

• Complete general patient assessment and obtain vital signs  
• Establish IV access per policy  
• Prepare, administer and document infusions/injections per order from the physician   
• Monitor for infusion related reactions. Follow infusion reaction protocol and notify physicians if any concerns for infusion related reactions  
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatments and associated side effects  
• Open and close infusion suite using daily log, ensuring proper cleanliness, sterilization and infection control  
• Send follow up to ordering physicians regarding patient's status and infusion experience  
• Assist medical assistant in managing and maintaining adequate supply and medication inventory  
• Schedule patients for follow up appointments

 Requirements

 Education/qualification requirements:  

• Registered Nurse with current MA and RI license preferred
• Current BLS certification  
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience. Infusion experience highly preferred.  
• Proficient peripheral IV skills required  
• Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work in a team focused environment  
• High level of professionalism  
• Bilingual is a plus
