In-Home Academic Tutor (Grades 1-3 Level) - Female Tutor Preferred

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Ontario, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Ontario, CA
• Schedule: Weekdays after 3pm
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience
• Focus Area: Foundational Literacy and Math

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with students with learning disabilities, especially at the elementary level
• Knowledge of early literacy, reading intervention, and basic math instruction
• Familiarity with IEPs and special education accommodations
• Patient, creative, and enthusiastic approach to individualized learning
• Ability to build rapport and incorporate student interests into lessons
• Reliable transportation for in-home sessions in Ontario, CA
• Female tutor strongly preferred by the family

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction in foundational literacy, including reading fluency, comprehension, and early writing skills (language, conventions, organization, and traits).
• Deliver math instruction focused on basic concepts appropriate for Grades 1–3.
• Adapt materials and teaching methods to match the student's learning style and developmental level.
• Follow a consistent, structured schedule of two sessions per week, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes each.
• Use strategies aligned with IEP goals, in coordination with any other services the student may receive.
• Communicate regularly with the family to share progress and adjust strategies as needed.
