In-House Counsel

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts (e.g., logistics, real estate, service agreements)
  

• Manage outside counsel and insurance partners
  

• Advise on legal risks tied to operational and procurement strategies
  

• Oversee corporate governance, entity management, and regulatory compliance
  

• Support internal departments with legal guidance across Transportation, Warehouse, HR, Compliance, and more
  

• Administer and support the company’s Sustainability Program
  

• Monitor changes in industry-related laws and regulations
  

• Conduct audits, legal research, and manage employment law matters
  

• Maintain compliance with ISO certifications and C-TPAT standards
  

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school
  

• Minimum 5 years of legal experience (corporate, firm, or military)
  

• Licensed to practice in MI or SC
  

• Experience with contracts, corporate governance, and risk management
  

• Preferred: Logistics/transportation law background
  

• Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)
  

• Strong communication, business judgment, and organizational skills
  

• Valid driver’s license and insurability under company policy
