In-house Repair Technician


Location:  Amherst, NY 
The range for this position is between $27.00- $31.25/hour depending on experience, qualifications and location.  Final compensation will be determined during the interview process

 Ivoclar is looking for qualified In-house Repair Technician to join the team. The role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, testing and maintaining company equipment and products within our facility.   The ideal candidate is hands on, dependable, and thrives in a fast paced, quality driven environment.


Position Responsibilities: Repair analog and digital equipment to meet and/or exceed both the customer’s expectations and Ivoclar key performance indicators and quality standards.


 Essential Functions:



  • Conduct electronic and mechanical testing and repair of analog and digital equipment.

  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic support via phone with internal and external customers

  • Maintain excellent and accurate communications with the appropriate staff and customers

  • Provide technical advice and support to internal departments (Sales, Customer Service, and Education departments)

  • Coordinate loaner equipment usage, both to and from customers

  • Monitor and maintain equipment repair parts inventory in order to meet service and repair schedule/demand

  • Maintain quality logs and records as required by the Quality Management System

  • Establish/maintain vendors for replacement parts and supplies for equipment line

  • Assist with departmental training initiatives for self, staff and Salesforce

  • Assist other departments with spare parts, used equipment ordering

  • Provide assistance to other departments as needed

  • Perform other duties or assist in special projects as assigned by the Lead, Supervisor or Manager


 


Your Qualifications:



  •  Two-year degree (AAS preferred) or certification in a related field, and 3-5 years of practical experience (dental field is desirable), or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a small team environment

  • Familiarity with digital and analog meters and various power tools is essential

  • Excellent IT/PC skills and ability to communicate advanced topics to users with very different backgrounds

  • SAP / Salesforce knowledge a plus

  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities with a certain degree of creativity

  • Basic troubleshooting skills. Ability to identify common hardware, software and design errors relevant to equipment.


 


Physical Demands:



  •  Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours per day, view computer monitor, and move about effectively to fulfill the essential functions of the job.

  • Manual dexterity needed to work with hand tools.

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
