Injection Molding Material Handler (3rd Shift)

Job Summary: Matrix Plastic Products is seeking a dedicated Injection Molding Material Handler to join our dynamic team and support 3rd Shift. This role is critical in supporting our injection molding operations by ensuring materials are handled efficiently, machines are set up correctly, and production runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Material Handling: Load and unload materials, manage material inventory, and ensure equipment is correctly staged for production. Must be able to lift and carry weights up to 50-60 lbs. and be able to check in and out materials for inventory tracking.
• Machine Setup: Assist in setting up, adjusting, and maintaining injection molding machines. This includes changing and setting up molds, water/oil lines, filling and emptying material dryers, and handling other auxiliary molding equipment. Detection of machine alarms is necessary.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, maintain a clean workspace, and follow OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Required Qualifications:

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50-60 lbs. and requires regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, and/or lifting for several hours at a time.
• Skills: Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and inventory control. Mechanical aptitude for machine setup and troubleshooting.
• Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with injection molding or similar machinery, is preferred.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Work Environment: The work setting may have exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery. Protective gear such as hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and gloves may be required.

Job Type: Full Time (in-person, on-site)

Work Location: Wood Dale, IL

Hours: 11:30 PM – 8:30 AM (3rd Shift begins the week on Sunday evenings, 5 days/week)

Ability to commute/relocate: Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
