Job Details

Responsibilities:
Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, PCS, and other codes for diagnoses and procedures in inpatient medical records.
Review and interpret medical information to ensure accurate coding.
Use electronic health record (EHR) systems to access patient information and documentation.
Ensure compliance with all applicable coding guidelines and regulations, including AHIMA standards and guidelines.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify and obtain documentation for incomplete medical records.
Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy and completeness of coded data.
Provide training and guidance to other coding staff as needed.
Participate in the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures.
Stay current with the latest developments in medical coding and healthcare technology.

Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in inpatient medical coding.
Certification from AHIMA, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, COC, or CIC is required.
Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, PCS, and other coding systems.
Experience with EHR and other electronic health record systems.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
Strong desire to stay current with the latest developments in the field of medical coding and healthcare technology.
