Inserter Operator 1 - Operator Assistant

Responsibilities:

• Assist with machines that insert printed matter, such as letters or booklets into folders or envelops
• Assist Machine Operator in set up and adjusting the machine to operate efficiently
• Oversee output and make adjustments as necessary
• Assist in paper loading, removing materials and products from machine and equipment, and place them in containers.
• Inspect materials and products for defects and alerting Machine Operator to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Clean and maintain work areas to ensure proper functioning and safe work conditions.
• Set up receiving containers.
• Moving pallets and carts loaded with printed documents.
• Follow work instructions from the machine operator

• Requires familiarity with routine operating procedures of equipment which can be set up and operated following a few step by step instructions and the skill to operate the equipment
• Requires skill to perform minor clerical tasks incidental to the operation of the equipment (e.g., maintain machine operating and maintenance records, write new identification labels for computer tapes, etc.), and skill to perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating the equipment
• Ability to identify if improper machine operation and make basic adjustments
• Blue Crest and/or Kern inserter preferred, however not required.

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $16.41 to $21.63 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
