Inside Machinists at multiple levels (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Leadman)

Position Summary:

Talent Source is hiring Inside Machinists at multiple levels (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Leadman) to support shipyard and manufacturing operations. This role involves operating and setting up machine shop equipment, fabricating and repairing parts, reading blueprints and job specifications, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Candidates will be placed based on skills, experience, and certifications.

Job Duties:

• 
  

  Operate, set up, and adjust machine shop equipment.

  
  


• 
  

  Perform machining, fabrication, repairs, and modifications to meet production needs.

  
  


• 
  

  Read and interpret blueprints, job specifications, and technical instructions.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and within quality standards.

  
  


• 
  

  Assist with or lead the training and mentoring of junior machinists (Levels 1–3 depending on experience).

  
  


• 
  

  Promote a safe, clean, and efficient work environment, wearing required PPE at all times.

  
  


• 
  

  Track materials, complete job paperwork, and maintain records.

  
  


• 
  

  Support cross-functional collaboration with other teams and departments.

  
  


• 
  

  Leadman roles will assign tasks, monitor workflow, and ensure production schedules are met.

  
  


• 
  

  Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.

  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  

  Level 1: 1–2 years of machining or mechanical experience; strong willingness to learn.

  
  


• 
  

  Level 2: 2–3 years of machining experience; ability to perform setups, offsets, and hand finishing.

  
  


• 
  

  Level 3: 4–6 years of machining experience; advanced blueprint reading, troubleshooting, and mentoring.

  
  


• 
  

  Leadman: Minimum 4 years of lead/supervisory experience in machining or related environments.

  
  


• 
  

  High School Diploma or GED required.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong math skills and ability to use measuring equipment.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. and work on feet for extended periods.

  
  


• 
  

  Must speak and understand English; bilingual preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Commitment to teamwork, safety, and high-quality workmanship.

  
  

Pay Range: $20 – $34 per hour (DOE and level of placement)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday; typical shifts 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (swing shifts may be assigned). Occasional overtime and weekend work as required.
