Woods Machinery is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Inside Sales & Rental Specialistto join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for contractors, landscapers, and businesses looking to rent or purchase equipment. You’ll play a key role in building customer relationships, coordinating rental transactions, and supporting the outside sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement & Sales
Develop strong relationships with contractors, municipalities, and walk-in customers.
Recommend equipment solutions tailored to customer needs, promoting both compact construction and outdoor power equipment (OPE).
Support daily showroom activity and conduct outbound sales calls to drive revenue.
Rental Operations & Coordination
Create rental agreements and coordinate equipment deliveries, pickups, and returns.
Monitor rental fleet condition, availability, and utilization.
Work closely with the Service Department to ensure fleet readiness and proper maintenance.
Identify underperforming units and help implement strategies for improved fleet performance.
Product & Industry Knowledge
Stay current on product features, equipment specs, and industry trends.
Confidently communicate benefits and recommend solutions for diverse applications.
Sales Process & Reporting
Prepare accurate quotes and manage the full sales cycle from inquiry to fulfillment.
Maintain CRM records and collaborate with internal departments to ensure a smooth customer experience.
Team Collaboration & Support
Work cross-functionally with the Parts, Service, Sales, and Rental teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.
Provide post-sale follow-up and help resolve issues to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Qualification & Skills:
2+ years of inside sales, rental, or customer service experience (equipment, construction, or automotive preferred)
Strong sales, communication, and negotiation abilities
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Proficient with CRM software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Customer-first attitude with the ability to build relationships across a diverse client base
Organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (required); Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (preferred)
Prior experience in inside sales or equipment rentals, preferably within the construction or equipment industry
Must pass a background check and drug screening
