Job Summary

Responsible for sales development with existing and new accounts via telephone or other non-direct solicitation methods.  Provides sales support to existing customers primarily with intent to expand sales.  Must maintain information in company database to support efforts and contribution.  Supports Customer Service, Sales and Marketing staff.  This is not a remote position. These tasks are completed by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provides in-house sales support to major existing accounts, prospective customers and customers requiring global support.


2. Increase sales with existing and prospect customers primarily through telephone contact. Promote existing and new products to selected markets determined by Sales Manager and Marketing staff.


3. Manages all new customer inquiries; investigation, account set-up, sampling and follow-up. 


4. Assists in developing product promotion strategies to obtain business in existing or new markets. Attend Trade Shows and other marketing events to support Sales department and gather marketing data.


5. Confirm and close leads generated by tradeshows, magazines, company database or other relevant sources. Coordinate direct mail advertising, customer surveys and related editorial projects.


6. Supports projects initiated by Regional Sales Managers and Marketing staff to enhance business development. 


7. Provide records of sales development activity to help measure and improve performance.  Inside Rep will be given sales goals and measured accordingly.


8. Regular and predictable attendance is required. 


9. Comply with YKK’s Compliance Program including Environmental, Quality, Health & Safety, and Confidential Information Management Guidelines.


10.  Performs other position-related duties as assigned.

Supervision and Scope of Position

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education/Experience: 

High school diploma or equivalent required; and 2 to 5 years of related experience in Customer Service and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be proficient with Microsoft operations.

Certificates and Licenses:  None

Travel Requirements:  Minimal, (less than 5%).
