Overview:
As an Inside Sales Representative at ProSource, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service and sales support across both our lighting and plumbing product lines. You will be responsible for processing orders, providing quotes, supporting customers post-sale, and actively building strong relationships. This role demands strong product knowledge, a proactive sales mindset, and a customer-first attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
· Serve as the first point of contact for customers—responding to inquiries, handling incoming calls, and processing orders.
· Generate sales by identifying customer needs, upselling relevant products, and offering tailored solutions.
· Prepare and follow up on quotations, ensuring accurate pricing and timely responses.
· Source and purchase materials not in stock to meet customer requirements.
· Maintain product knowledge and stay updated on new products and industry trends.
· Open new accounts and manage the full sales process, including closing orders.
· Provide technical product expertise and guidance to customers.
· Foster and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
· Provide counter sales, process returns, and assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory stocking.
· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Competencies:
· Outstanding customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written).
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
· Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.
· Technically savvy with solid proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Sales-oriented mindset with a track record of building and maintaining relationships.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma (Grade 12) required; post-secondary education in electrical or technical fields is an asset.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in counter sales, inside sales, or related customer service roles.
· Background in electrical products (lighting, wiring, controls) and/or plumbing products is highly desirable.
· Experience working with contractors, institutional purchasers, or industrial clients is an asset.
