Job Description - Inside Sales Representative

Description

Summary:

The Inside Sales Representative services, sells, represents, and promotes products and accounts across all residential brands-Fabricut, Stroheim, Vervain, S. Harris. Trend-as well as Distributed Brands, by conducting sales outreach from within the Sales Department. This role collaborates closely with Outside Sales Representatives to drive a sales growth and profitability by cultivating strong customer relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent and manage All Brands for residential customers with exceptional service in a professional manner including Distributed Brands.
  • Follow the sales program set by management.
  • Call and or email each new account on a regular basis and have consistent verbal and written interaction with each account, which the initial list is provided by Credit dept containing first UNI# accounts.
  • Build market share by generating business through established accounts. 
  • Communicate openly and regularly with Outside Sales Representatives to increase sales volume.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining computer log of customer calls to share with Outside Sales Representatives in TMS.
  • Build cut order sales to increase profit through follow-up on expiring CFA’s, substitute offerings and other daily functions as outline by Management.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with current and potential customers.
  • Establish new accounts using specific guidelines.
  • Work with customer and OSRs to enter orders, check pricing and stock, solve problems, claims, mill inquiries, formal quotes, lookups warehouse, freight issues, website navigation, Finished Product, Furniture, and Website tutorials, plus suggest substitutes and perform some fabric research for potential orders.
  • Evaluate customers and their needs through effective use of printouts and other sales tools. Sell promotions on fabrics and linings and *promote books by doing thorough book reviews.
  • Respond to customers’ questions and problems in a timely fashion and offer solutions as quickly as possible.
  • Keep customers updated on residential brand seminars, shows and events and about social media network marketing to include Face book and Instagram, including furniture, rugs, leather, wallcovering and Distributed Brands.
  • Have business conversations with customers about volume and book usage.
  • Assemble new customer welcome packets supplied by Marketing department.
  • Backup the OSR during vacation/personal time off.
  • Participate in team building events, employee appreciation week activities and sales meetings held two times per year.
  • Attend required trainings on new and existing products as well as department staff meetings.
  • Attend Zone Meetings on Teams when invited.
  • Interface with other departments to provide exceptional service.
  • Assisting when needed with Sales Support Happy Fox ticket system.
  • Backup on phones for Sales Support, Customer Service, Hardware on Ring Central/Max.
  • Assist specialty customer accounts assigned by OSRs or managers – example: Disney, Vern Yip, Supply Showroom, and more.
  • Display good safety and housekeeping practices.
  • Use material and equipment effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Job duties are subject to change as directed by management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of six months of customer service experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Capable of managing stress in a fast-paced setting
  • Able to work independently in a noisy environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Data entry experience preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • At least three years of overall customer service experience
  • Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic

  • Both feet – Walking between buildings

Your job requires you to use your hands for repetitive action.

  • Simple Grasping – Up to 2 hours
  • Firm Grasping – Up to 2 hours
  • Fine Dexterity – Up to 2 hours

In your job, you may be around the following working conditions.

  • Exposure to dust, fumes and/or gases – 2 to 4 hours
