Service Technician – Heavy Equipment Repair

Location: McMinnville, OR
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $24.00 - $33.00 per hour (Based on experience)
Expected Hours: 40+ hours per week
Travel: Up to 25%

Your Role: As a Service Technician, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of farm machinery and vehicles. You'll work directly in the field, ensuring equipment like tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems are functioning at their best.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and hand tools.
   
• Reassemble & Test: Reassemble equipment after repairs, testing for optimal performance and making adjustments as necessary.
   
• Parts Management: Create parts lists for estimates/orders, ensuring the necessary parts are on hand for repairs.
   
• Customer Communication: Work closely with the service office to update customers on repair status, parts, and completion timelines.
   
• Maintain Cleanliness: Keep your workspace and service vehicle organized and clean.
   
• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with training requirements to meet OEM specifications and maintain certifications.
   

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: 1-2 years of service technician experience, preferably with heavy equipment or farm machinery.
   
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  
  
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and communication. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment is a plus.
   
• Certifications: Forklift certification and Kubota Registered Technician certification are preferred.
   
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, and work in various physical positions (kneeling, standing, sitting). Visual acuity for close vision and depth perception is required.

Work Environment: You'll be working in a standard service environment, where noise levels can range from moderate to loud. The role will involve both on-site and off-site work at various customer locations.
