Position Overview:
Rail Products Company is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Inspector/Packer to support production operations by inspecting and packaging heat-forged rail track spikes. This position requires a balanced focus on visual quality assurance and efficient packaging in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection Duties (50%):
• Visually inspect forged rail spikes for surface defects such as cracks, pits, laps, discoloration, excessive scale, and deformities
• Use fixed or preset gauges to check critical dimensions and verify head shape
• Monitor product movement on the conveyor line, clearing or preventing jams

Packaging Duties (50%):
• Operate automated filler equipment to ensure container weights meet standards
• Set and adjust load scales as needed for product accuracy
• Manually transfer filled containers to pallets for shipment
• Apply labels and maintain accurate records of packaged products

Additional Tasks:
• Occasionally operate a forklift to move palletized kegs to shrink-wrap stations, loading docks, or storage areas

Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of measurement tools and gauges
• Forklift experience preferred (training available)
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and ability to work independently
