Position Overview: The Installation Technician is a hands-on position supporting the company’s sale of wood, pellet and gas appliances and inserts and building relationships with new-appliance customers.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Install stoves and accessories according to standards, manufacturer's instructions, and local building codes.


• Work outside in varying weather conditions and temperatures.


• Maintain company vehicles and tools.


• Follow all OSHA and company safety standards and procedures.


• Maintain a positive and professional image with homebuilders and consumers.


• Keep job site clean and organized.


• Maintain working knowledge of all fireplaces, stoves, and related products along with any manufacturer's changes.


• Maintain effective communication with sales staff and field operations to ensure installation is completed and meets quality standards.


• Complete and return all paperwork and photos on a daily basis.


• May train others on manufacturer's installation standards.


• Ability to manipulate and safely use all required equipment and PPE.


• Practice the "5 S Principles" relating to company vehicles at all times

 Qualifications and Requirements

• Candidates must have experience working with hand and power tools, be mechanically inclined, and possess excellent customer service skills.


• Experience in construction, HVAC, or similar industry a plus.


• Must have a valid driver's license and meet our driving standards.


• Will be required to become certified by the National Fireplace Institute.


• Ability to diplomatically navigate demanding situations and requests.


• High School Diploma or GED required, some college or college degree is preferred but not required.


• Ability to manipulate and safely use all required equipment and PPE.


• 12-18 months of trade-focused experience preferred.


• 12-18 months in a customer service role is strongly encouraged.

Cognitive Skills: Ability to read, compose; proposals, documents, and emails, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers and the public. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will constantly be on their feet walking and standing. The employee will frequently be required to reach, handle (hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with hand or hands), finger (picking, pinching, fine manipulation). The employee is occasionally required to bend, squat, climb stairs, push, and pull. The employee will occasionally be required to lift and/or move 75+ pounds.

Work Environment: This position is conducted in both interior and exterior settings. The ability to withstand prolonged exposure to varied outside temperatures and inclement weather conditions for extended periods of time is required. This position requires employees to work at heights on top of roofs of various stories.
