Installation/Piping Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Installation/Piping Service Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for installing, servicing, and troubleshooting HVAC systems, with a focus on piping and system connections. The ideal candidate will bring advanced HVAC knowledge, particularly in VRF systems, and will play a key role in mentoring junior technicians while delivering exceptional customer service. This position requires strong technical skills, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

• Install new HVAC systems, including piping, fittings, and related components, ensuring compliance with building codes and project specifications
• Interpret blueprints and building specifications to determine the optimal layout and installation approach
• Troubleshoot HVAC systems, identify issues, and perform repairs or part replacements as needed
• Perform advanced diagnostics on VRF systems; VRF installation and troubleshooting is a strong plus
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less-experienced team members
• Advise customers on proper system upkeep and proactively communicate when replacements or upgrades are needed
• Maintain solid communication with customers and internal teams to ensure a smooth and professional service experience
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service needs
• Operate service vehicle in a safe manner and maintain a clean driving record
• Maintain personal tools necessary for performing job responsibilities

Skills & Qualifications:

• Advanced HVAC troubleshooting skills
• VRF system experience strongly preferred
• Basic understanding of HVAC controls and electrical systems
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Ability to mentor and train junior technicians
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Availability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule
• Must provide personal tools related to job duties

Education & Experience:

• NH Gas Fitters Service Technician License (required)
• EPA Certification (required)
• High School Diploma or equivalent (technical/vocational school training a plus)
• Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on HVAC installation and service experience
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 75 lbs
• Safely work with heights and in tight working conditions from extension and step ladders and lifts
• Ability to operate power and hand tools safely
• Ability to use full range of body motion: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, bending, and twisting
