Description

An instructional coach will work closely with teachers to improve their instructional practices, enhance student learning, and support professional growth. Instructional coaches serve as mentors, collaborators, and facilitators of professional development.

  1. Modeling Best Practices: Demonstrating effective teaching strategies and classroom management techniques.
  2. Observing and Providing Feedback: Observing teachers in the classroom and offering constructive, non-evaluative feedback.
  3. Collaborative Planning: Working with teachers to develop lesson plans, curriculum alignment, and instructional strategies, backwards planning.
  4. Professional Development: Facilitating workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one coaching to build teacher capabilities.
  5. Data Analysis: Assisting teachers in analyzing student performance data to inform instruction and track progress.
  6. Support with Instructional Strategies: Introducing new teaching methods and helping teachers integrate technology or evidence-based practices.
  7. Mentoring New Teachers: Providing additional support and guidance to novice educators.
  8. Curriculum & Alignment: Review and refine curriculum to meet state standards. Ensure consistency across grade levels and subject areas. Integrate best teaching practices and innovative instructional strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; advanced degree preferred
  • FLDOE-certified or certifiable
  • FLOCS certifiable
  • Experience in instructional coaching preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior
  • Believe that the Bible is God’s Word and Standard for faith and daily living.
  • Be in complete agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and Philosophy of Education.
  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others. This includes being committed to biblical standards for sexual conduct. (Luke 6:40)
  • Show by example the importance of Bible study, prayer, evangelism, and unity in the body of Christ.
  • Have the spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to “train up a child in the way he should go.”
