Position Overview:

DeLaSalle Charter High School is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Instructional Coach to join our high school team. The ideal candidate is passionate about elevating instructional practice and student achievement, with a strong foundation in the Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching and has a strong background in Literacy strategies across all content areas.

As a key member of the Instructional Leadership Team, the Instructional Coach will work directly with teachers to improve instructional quality through evidence-based coaching. The focus will include enhancing classroom management, increasing student effort, and promoting academic press/rigor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Observe and evaluate instruction using the Charlotte Danielson Framework.
  


• Provide individualized, job-embedded coaching and focus on the instructional cycle: planning, execution, and student work analysis to improve teacher practice.
  


• Collaborate with teachers to develop goals and strategies to enhance classroom management and student engagement.
  


• Support teachers in designing and delivering rigorous, standards-aligned instruction.
  


• Implement literacy strategies and tools per the DLS Literacy Framework. 
  


• Use data to inform coaching priorities and measure progress toward instructional goals.
  


• Facilitate professional development sessions aligned with school-wide academic priorities.
  


• Partner closely with the Principal and Chief Academic Officer’s team to implement instructional initiatives.
  


• Contribute actively to the Instructional Leadership Team to support a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
  


• Prior experience in an instructional leadership or teacher leader role.
  


• Proficiency in or commitment to becoming certified in the Danielson Framework for Teaching within 4 months of hire (certification provided by school).
  


• Demonstrated success in improving instructional practices and student outcomes.
  


• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  


• Deep understanding of best practices in classroom management, academic rigor, and student engagement.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Danielson Framework certification or extensive experience using the framework.
  


• Experience delivering professional development and facilitating adult learning.
  


• Prior experience in an instructional leadership or teacher leader role.
  


• Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience in a K–12 setting, preferably at the high school level.
